Our standard

We build to WCAG 2.1 level AA. Every page template is checked with automated audits before it ships, and the build fails when the accessibility score drops below 100. The homes, the map, the checkout and the admin behind them are held to the same standard.

What that means in practice

• Every page has one heading structure you can navigate by, a skip target on the main content, and landmarks for the header, main content and footer.
• Colour contrast meets AA on text and controls; the olive accent is never the only signal. Focus is visible on every interactive element.
• Every image that carries meaning has a text description; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• The date picker, guest counter, filters, gallery, map bubbles and popup all work from the keyboard. Escape closes any dialog and focus returns to where you were.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall on phones. Text resizes without breaking the layout, and nothing depends on hover alone.
• Motion is optional: with “reduce motion” set in your device, videos hold their still frame and nothing animates in.
• The map has a list alternative. Every home on it is also in the list on the same page and on the stays page.

Known limits

• Third-party payment fields are provided by Stripe and follow Stripe’s accessibility support.
• Some older photographs supplied by our listing partners have generic descriptions until we re-shoot them.
• The interactive map is a visual tool; the list and the property pages carry the same information in text.
