It started with one guest
Our first guest came for the 2016 Breeders’ Cup. We listed our own house for the weekend, moved out for four nights, and liked hosting so much that the house became our first full-time rental. In 2019 we bought the second one. Today there are 25, in Lexington, along the Bourbon Trail, near the Ark Encounter, and on a hillside outside Asheville.
The name is older than the business. Our family has called central Kentucky home for six generations, since Francis Xavier Hillenmeyer planted fruit trees outside Lexington in the 1840s. That is where the name comes from, and it is why we host the way we do: the homes are ours, the welcome is ours, and the phone rings on our desk.
